Vermilion Summer Couples’ Session

A warm summer night shooting with an awesome couple until sunset – that’s about the best way I can imagine spending an evening. This couples’ session with Rebekah & Denver just outside of Vermilion was one of my favourite evenings all summer!

Denver chose this spot on his family’s land, and I think he did a pretty dang good job?! This spot has a variety of colour, textures and enough open space to run around a little bit (which is key in my sessions 😉), and an awesome view to have the couples’ back to the sun. Feel free to use these tips when choosing your session location. Or, hand the reins to me and I’ll find the perfect one for ya!

We were planning to head down to the river at the Provincial Park, but we got stuck at a train as we watched the precious light disappear. I quickly texted Rebekah, “I have an idea”. We whipped a u-turn on the street and headed to a back road just outside of Vermilion, and spent the last few minutes of light playing along the road. Rebekah had brought along a bottle of wine, a blanket and 2 mugs. We threw that blanket right on the road, and they shared a drink while we watched the sun set! It’s great to have a plan, but keep an open mind. And don’t let a certain concept get in the way of new ones! Don’t be afraid to abandon your original plans and go with the flow. Sometimes the last minute thoughts make the most magic!
