Vancouver Adventure Session

While visiting Vancouver last fall, the stars aligned and I was lucky enough to meet my friend Marissa and her partner James for an adventure session in this incredible place.

Marissa and I met in Australia while backpacking, and spent a lot of time dancing, drinking cheap wine and eating junk food together- we’re a bit more composed now but the nostalgia for those days is alive and well! It was such a dream to meet up again and combine her home with my passion with a Vancouver adventure session.

It was POURING rain, that relentless, soak you to your core kind of rain – these two didn’t skip a beat. These two were SO themselves, immersed in their own intimate little world, soaked and still glowing. The old growth forest, clouds and rain combined with Marissa & James’ connection created such a calm and intimate feeling. We played, explored and created the most playful & peaceful images together.

I’m so happy I had the opportunity to create these memories for these two laid back nature lovers!

I tried a bit of a different method of directing during this adventure session. I chose to pose less and give the couple more space to be themselves, to move in a way that felt right to them in the moment. The result was magically natural images that are completely true to them. Instead of seeing the artist first in the images, we see the couple and their connection first. I don’t think I’ll ever go back! So, if you choose an adventure session with me, you can look forward to photos that look how your relationship feels.
