Camrose Casino Wedding | Luke + Rebecca

When Rebecca first approached me about documenting their Camrose Casino wedding, I was beyond excited. Her and I went to high school together, and she is always a total sweetheart to everyone she meets. So meeting Luke, it made perfect sense to me that these two are together. Of course these two kind-hearted, driven, dedicated, and fun-loving souls would find each other. Plus, their proposal was amaze. Both playing for the Augustana Vikings, Luke proposed on the court with her team in the back hyping them up. Perfect? Perfect.

The entire day was amazing in every detail. Luke and Rebecca’s emotional, teary-eyed ceremony was held at the Camrose Church of God. The Camrose Resort and Casino hosted the super fun reception. The bridesmaids, groomsmen, and “bridesboy” (hell yeah) were feeding off each other’s energy all day. But when I stole the newlyweds away from the party for their portraits, I could feel the romance and intense love and respect they have for each other, and I was literally speechless. From listening to the speeches and hanging out with their friends and family all day, it’s clear to me how much love these two are surrounded by and how much Luke and Rebecca build each other up in their relationship.

All the pieces of the day were chosen with such intention. With every detail, there is a story. One of the bridesmaids, Kali, made the cupcakes and adorable cake. Luke’s grandparents drove the super cool retro car from eastern Saskatchewan. The ceremony pianist is Rebecca’s college roommate and flew from Hong Kong to be a part of the wedding?!? Their pastor gifted them a volleyball for all the guests to sign. And, this heartstring-tugger:

“My wonderful mom created the 3 hair clips from a pair of earrings and a brooch that belonged to my great grandma, who passed away in 2011. She was one of the many inspiring women in my life, and am truly blessed to heave heard her amazing stories growing up. The pearls braided in my hair belonged to Luke’s grandmother, Mary Ryan. The first time I met Mary she instantly treated me like family. I adored everything about her. She was overjoyed knowing there was going to be a wedding in the Ryan family after Luke proposed. It broke her heart to know she was to going to be there for the wedding, as she passed away last November. Though these women were not physically present, I know they have been and all continue to be with us throughout this marriage.”
I’m not crying, you’re crying.

I will never get over this beautiful, emotional, incredible day.
