Breanna, Cooper and I had a BLAST at their summer lake session last summer! The sunset was absolutely perfect, the lake was quiet for us, and the energy was HIGH. Breanna and Cooper were so in for everything. They look one look at the lake, and casually said, “so we going in or?” And at that moment, I felt like we were meant for each other. They were down for all my ideas, and kept each other giggly and playful the entire time.

I could have shot these two in the water until the stars came out. But I think they would have become frozen little raisins! I’m super grateful for couples who throw their worries to the wind and embrace their session fully.

We shot this session at the beginning of September, which is strangely the best time for a summer lake session! Our lakes in Alberta take a while to warm up, but once they’re warm, they stay for a long time! So July, August and September are the best times for a summer lake session if you want to actually get in the water and play. I’ll never say no to splashing in the water in May or June. We will just need a hot sun or lots of towels!
