When I think about Kayla & Nathan’s summery intimate wedding at Hilltop Wedding Center on a warm Wednesday in July, I think of elegance, energy and pure joy. From the lakefront ceremony and the bubble exit, to the iconic first dance and heartfelt toasts, every detail was classy and elegant, while all the vibes were energetic, fun and SO full of love.
When Kayla greeted me with a box of her accessories neatly organized inside with my name on top, my heart SANG. We love an organized gal, and I knew at that point that the day would be smooth sailing. Pro tip – having these things organized, people assigned to each task and a game plan ahead of time lets you turn your brain off on your wedding day and fully embrace all the feels, because you know everything is handled. I’m all about laid back and chill, don’t get me wrong, but knowing those things are handled allows you to be the chill couple you want to be.
The couple wrote private letters to each other to read before their ceremony, and those emotions fully came out when they saw each other down the aisle. Their bubble exit brought the energy high and we rode that all day long, with maybe the most fun wedding party photos ever, and sentimental and lighthearted toasts to the couple. Kayla is an amazing dancer, so naturally they created a choreographed first dance complete with an impressive lift, and then they soaked in the just married bliss with all their family and friends.
Hilltop Wedding Center is an amazing venue, both from a photographer’s perspective and a couple’s. The place has SO many beautiful places to shoot, and the clear tent that gets absolutely drenched in natural light makes for the most dreamy reception photos. But far more importantly, Hilltop is wonderful to plan and coordinate with for the smoothest wedding day ever. The staff were never far away if we had questions or needed a hand, but not once did I feel like one of us was in each other’s way. The day ran without a single hitch and I would definitely recommend this venue to my couples!
These two ordered a wedding album from me as well, and seeing your images in print truly brings everything to life and lets you hold those memories in your hands. Your photos are created with the intention of being shown off, admired, passed around and starting “remember when”s and “tell me all about it”s. Print your dang photos – we know all too well that these moments never last long enough.
My intention throughout each wedding day is simply to keep my eyes and heart open to the happenings around me – the way the light comes through the tent walls, a supportive hand on their bride’s arm or anticipating a tear during a toast. Above all else, I want to make sure that every photograph brings you back to the emotion of the day, big or small, and if I can bring you back to the atmosphere and emotion through your photos, my life is simply complete.
Thank you, Kayla & Nathan, for letting me into your love bubble and trusting me to document your day xoxoxox
